Types of Bread

The types of bread that were eaten in the area included oven bread, oatmeal bread, potato bread cake, boxty. Boxty is made from boiled potatoes and raw potatoes and flour. There is an old saying:

“Boxty on the griddle

Boxty on the pan

If you don’t eat boxty

You will never be a man”
