Inisheer Zibaldone Project

The Inisheer Zibaldone Project is an ongoing collaborative project to create a snapshot of island life and island people. A Zibaldone was originally a notebook kept by Italian merchants in the 14th century. Alongside workaday notes they began to add personal stories and pictures. The Inisheer Zibaldone Project invites people to contribute a response to their experience of the Aran islands. People can contribute stories, memories, images, thoughts and ideas relating to Inis Oírr.  A website complements the physical Inisheer Zibaldone hand-made book. It is a hodgepodge of images, video, stories and information of a not so easily pigeon-holed nature. The Inisheer Zibaldone Project is led by JesseJames, who were artists in residence at the Aras Eanna Arts Centre on Inisheer one summer. Find out more at www.inisheerzibaldone.com
