Pet Lamb

Interviewee: Margaret Heagney (MH)

CD: And did you ever have a pet lamb or did you ever have a favourite animal?

MH: Oh, we did and brought them into the kitchen. And you’d have the little bottle, it would be like would be given to a child with a teat on it and you’d feed the little lamb away there and he’d take it all

CD: Would you have to kill the lamb then when he got big?

MH: Oh no, you wouldn’t kill the pet lamb, no…

CD: The pets you could keep, could you?

MH: You’d have to sell him

CD: Yeah, that would be awful hard to do

MH: It would, it would. Oh, we had plenty of pet lambs, we…in and around the kitchen and the ewe in along with them.
