This late Medieval carved head came from Kilconnell Firary according to local tradition. Carved from Oak, the carving is missing its polychrome. The neck has been worked, which may indicate the carving was part of an composite state. The presence of an iron nail can be seen still on the carving. It is noteable that the face of the state is elongated, and very much in the style of earlier medieval statues.
