Abbeyknockmoy Cultural Heritage

In 2023, members of Abbeyknockmoy Parish Society became interested in carrying out some heritage related projects and they set up a sub-group and named it Abbeyknockmoy Cultural Heritage. Following a successful application to the Heritage Council under the Community Grants Scheme 2024 by Abbeyknockmoy Cultural Heritage, the Heritage Audit of Abbeyknockmoy commenced in June 2024.

The aim was to audit all built, natural and cultural heritage monuments and sites within a 6km radius of Abbeyknockmoy village in order to provide a framework for the future development of the local heritage resources by Abbeyknockmoy Cultural Heritage and their interpretation for both residents and visitors.  Zena Hoctor Heritage Services were appointed in May 2024 by Abbeyknockmoy Cultural Heritage to complete the tasks outlined in the project brief.
