Annaghdown Priory - Pillars

Galway - Medieval Doors

Close to the lake shore at Annaghdown in Co. Galway is the priory of the Augustinian canons founded in the1140s. A number of finely-carved fragments of whatmay have been the supports for the chancel arch of the church have been placed into a blocked up doorway at the site.
