CD: Paddy, do you remember being a young lad going to school?
PK: I do, yeah
CD: And what used to have to eat in school, for lunch time?
PK: Bread and tea
CD: Bread and tea, and how would you bring the tea, would it be in a bottle?
PK: No, I’d have a cup and go to the bog one time
CD: And would you ever go to the bog when you were a small lad and have to bring the tea with you?
PK: My mother brought a bottle of tea in for e
CD: Ah, very nice, and would she bring something for you to eat?
PK: She would, yeah
CD: What kind of things would she bring?
PK: She’d bring bread and cake and all of that
CD: Oh lovely, it’s a long aul day in the bog, isn’t it?
PK: Yeah
CD: Yeah. And you’d be working hard?
PK: Working hard, yeah
CD: Would you have a donkey and card with ye?
PK: We would
CD: Would you? How long…you’d stay the whole day then in the bog, would you?
PK: You would, yeah
CD: And you got the turf turned?
PK: Right
