Ice-cream after the hurling match
Interviewer: Clare Doyle (CD)
Interviewee: Martin Monahan (MM)
CD: Were you ever a member of the GAA or any place that would, like go off together and maybe go to a match and stop to have something to eat on the way?
MM: Well, I used to hurl, juvenile hurling in the national school
CD: Very nice
MM: And I won a few medals too, as well, I captained the junior…
CD: So, you were good at it!
MM: I was
CD: And you’d go off then for the matches?
MM: The teacher used to bring us to the matches.
CD: And would they let you…I remember when I was small I used to play a bit of camogie, and we’d always stop at the shop on the way home for the sweets
MM: We used to stop at the shop to get ice-cream
CD: Oh, very nice
MM: After the match
