On the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, people eat pan-cakes. In the pan-cakes there is always a ring, a stick and a pea. The person who gets the ring will be married first, the person who gets the stick will have poverty and the person with the pea will travel around the world.
Male members of the family are treated to punch.
