Kilskeagh Heritage

Kilskeagh Heritage Committee was set up in 2023, with the purpose of making our
old graveyard in Kilskeagh accessible to the community once again. It was known
that this site also contained the ruins of Kilskeagh Church. Through the support of
the Heritage Council, Galway County Council and local volunteers, an amazing
amount of work and discoveries have taken place over the last few years. We now
know that an early medieval settlement and market town once thrived here, which
possibly goes back to the 6th century. Ongoing work and investigations will no doubt
unveil more information about this amazing site.
