Once upon a time two men went out fishing in a boat. The day was very fine as they went a good distance out to sea. After a while the sea became very rough and they started for home. As they were going home they saw a big wave coming after them and they knew it would fill the boat. One of them often heard that if something was thrown into a breaker that it would break and not harm them. As it was approaching them one of the men threw in his pen knife and so they reached the shore safely. They were not long at home when some-one knocked at the door and a strange man entered the house. He stood on the floor and asked for the man who threw the knife into the wave. He told him to come along with him. The man did not like to go as he did not know the strange man nor could he understand why he wanted him. At last he made the stranger promise.
