The Eel’s Whistle

Clifden, Co. Galway

One day a man was fishing and he caught a big eel. He put him in a bag and was bringing him home when he heard another eel whistling in the river and the one in the bag answered him. As soon as the man heard them whistling he let the one out of the bag without delay. As soon as the eel got out of the bag he looked around him put his tail in his mouth and rolled away to the river.
