CD: And did you ever go fishing?
PS: No
CD: You never went out. Kind of, catching fish for the dinner?
PS: No
CD: And do you like fish?
PS: Yeah
CD: A lot of people don’t like fish
PS: I like sardines, we had it a lot in the bog
CD: Yeah. I suppose they were small and easy to carry
PS: Yeah
CD: And what’s your favourite thing to eat?
PS: My favourite thing, I could like… I like picnic
CD: Picnic things, like sandwiches?
PS: Yeah.
CD: And you like the cup of tea?
- Yes!
CD: And what’s your favourite thing to eat in here, this is a nice place in here, in the Centre?
PS: I like tuna
CD: Ah, very nice
PS: Yeah
CD: And you get nice dinner in here?
PS: Yeah, we get nice dinner

CD: And did you have vegetables in the garden at home?
PS: We did
CD: What kind of vegetables did you like?
PS: We had onions and carrots…
CD: And a few potatoes, maybe?
PS: Potatoes…throw a lock of ridge or drill
CD: Yeah
PS: Potatoes
CD: So, you didn’t have to buy the vegetables in the shop, you had them at home?
PS: No
CD: And did you have chickens?
PS: He did, yes. They used to lay eggs
CD: You had the eggs then in the mornings for your breakfast?
PS: Yeah and we used to always get…my mother wold get the brown egg
CD: Ah right
PS: And there used to be white eggs in it
CD: And did they taste different?
PS: Oh no, they would not
CD: And did you ever have duck eggs?
PS: That’s…that’s a thing that never used to happen in our house like, we could never have the brown egg …
CD: Yeah
PS: My mother wold have the brown egg
CD: That was hers?
PS: Yeah. Only time we could do it was when you fry them
CD: Right
PS: Because then
CD: The shell was gone and she wouldn’t know
PS: She wouldn’t know! Yeah
CD: And did you ever taste a duck egg?
PS: I did, yeah!
CD: And did you like them? They have a strong aul taste
PS: Oh no, I’d rather the hen egg
CD: Yeah, they’re nicer. Yeah
PS: And goose eggs too
CD: I didn’t know you could eat goose eggs?
PS: You could, yeah, you could!
CD: I’ve never tasted them, are they nice?
PS: You could put a goose egg into the pan and it’s a big one
CD: It’s a big egg, is it?
PS: …nearly two
CD: It’s the size of two hen eggs, is it?
PS: Yeah, yeah!
CD: That would fill you up in the morning then!
PS: That wold fill you up!
