Attikee is situated in the civil parish of Kiltormer, barony of Longford Co Galway. It is bounded on the north by Gurtarahan, on the east by Motee and Kill, on the south by Kill, on the west by Addergoole in the parish of Abbeygormican and Clonlahhon Geoghegan in Killoran and Glebe part of Gurtalahan in the parish.

 

O’Donavan Field Name Books give other name spellings of this townland: Attykee, Ait tighe caoich, Aitidh ciog, Attygay and Attygra.

 

Down Survey Map shows this townland under the name Attegey was owned by John O’Maddin, a catholic in 1641.  It was owned by John Madden, a protestant in 1670. It states there were 68 plantation acres of profitable land and 68 plantation acres of forfeited land.

 

The author cannot find any information from 1901 and 1911 census for this townland.
