One day a tinker came into Mary Corcoran in Blindwell, where she was doing the churning. He took a coal and then went away unnoticed. When she went back, she couldn’t get any churning and thought about the man who had come. She went to the place where he was staying and took some ashes from the fire. She brought the ashes home to her own fire and went she went to the churn it was done.
