Description:

(John O’Donovan 1806-1861)

Contains a. r. p. (202 acres, 1 rood, 6 perches) about 40 acres of which is bog, the remainder arable and pasture. The houses and roads are in good repair, it is mostly flat and dry land of a middling quality. It belongs to Lord Clonbrock held by deed for ever. The County Cess is included with Killupaun Mahon.

Killeen is situated in the N. West of this parish in the barony of Killian and bounded in this parish by Castle Ffrench West, Keoves and Lattoon townlands and in Killosolan Parish by Bredagh, French Park and Loughaunbwee, all in said barony.

Plot 1: Patrick Barrett leased a house, offices and 22 acres, 3 roods and 24 perches of land that he paid £7 10s for the land and £1 10s for the buildings.

Plot 2: William Noone paid £3 for 9 acres, 3 roods and 37 perches of land and £1 for a house and offices.

Plot 3: Patrick Owens leased a house and 4 acres, 1 rood and 8 perches of land for £1 10s for the land and 10s for the house.

Plot 4: Patrick Tracey Paid 15s for 1 acre, 1 rood and 5 perches of land and 10s for a house.

Plot 5: Edward Smith paid 10s for 3 roods and 14 perches of land.

Plot -7a: Edward Smith leased a house and garden of 20 perches for 2s for the garden and 8s for the house.

Plot -7b: Edward Smith paid 2s for 25 perches of land.

Plot 6: Edward and Simon Smith jointly leased 2 acres, 2 roods and 12 perches of land for which they each paid 10s annually.

Plot 8A: Patrick Coffey paid 12s for 1 acre and 5 perches of land.

Plot 8B: Patrick Coffey £2 5s for 5 acres, 1 rood and 34 perches of land and £1 5s for a house and office.

Plot 9: Owen Smith leased a house, office and 5 acres, 1 rood and 2 perches of land for which he paid £2 3s for the land and 12s for the buildings annually.

Plot 10: Patrick Gill leased a house, offices and 3 acres, 3 roods and 14 perches of land for £1 15s for the land and 15s for the buildings.

Plot 11A: Michael Manning leased a house, offices and 1 acre, 2 roods and 14 perches of land for 15s for the land and £1 5s for the buildings.

Plot 11B: Michael Manning paid 10s for 1 acre and 2 perches of land.

Plot 12: Edmund Noone leased a house, office and 3 acres, 3 roods and 23 perches of land for £1 10s for the land and £1 for the buildings.

Plot 13: Sarah Brandon paid £1 15s for 4 acres and 26 perches and 15s for a house and office.

Plot 14: Martin Curley leased a house, office and 18 acres, 1 rood and 15 perches of land for which he paid £6 for the land and £1 for the buildings.

Plot 15: Edmund Noone and Sarah Brandon jointly leased 1 acre, 1 rood and 14 perches of land for 6s each.

Plot 16: Patrick Coffey and Michael Manning jointly leased 9 acres, 3 roods and 24 perches of land for which Patrick paid £1 6s and Michael paid 18s.

Plot 17: William Noone and Patrick Gill paid 15s each for 16 acres, 1 rood and 14 perches of land that they jointly leased.

Plot 18: John Carr (Pollaneask [sic]) leased 30 acres, 1 rood and 11 perches of land for £7 10s.

Plot 19: John Connor leased 8 acres of land for £2 15s.

Plot 20: Lord Clonbrock had, in fee (for himself), 43 acres, 3 roods and 37 perches of bog that had an annual ratable valuation of 8s.
