Situation: The standard name for the townland was Roymore with the Irish name being Rath Mor. Other names include: Rughmore A. F. St. George, Esqr., Roighmore Clerk of the Peace for the town of Galway. The townland was at the northwest of the Parish, it was bordered on the north by Stradbally parish, Kilcolgan on the east, Killeanmwinterlaan north and Paurkeeghter on the south and Drumacoo Parish on the west.
Description:
The name for the townland in the survey was Carrowmore. In 1641 the owner was the earl of Clanrickard who was protestant. In 1670 the owner had shifted to Sir Henry Waddington who was also Protestant. There was 195 acres of profitable land and 195 forfeited acres.
Most of the land was a wet pasture, with a more wood filled pasture to the west, nothing remarkable to note.
