Griffith’s Valuation (1847-1864) for Creggoduff

The Griffith’s Valuation shows that the owner and immediate lessor of the townland of Creggoduff was Valentine O’C Blake. He leased, jointly, houses on 143 acres, 2 roods and 38 perches of land to Patrick Mealy and William Lydon for which they both paid £9 each for the land and Patrick paid 15s for his house and William paid 12s for his house annually. There were 2 acres and 1 perch of water in the townland.

The Down Survey name for this area was Emloghowere. The 1641 owners were Donnogh O’Doone and James O’Doone and in 1670 the owner was Edward Geoghegan, all were Catholics.
