Shanballycolman lies in the south west of the civil parish of Killallaghtan barony of Kilconnell/Cloonmacnoon Co Galway. It is bounded by Ballydonnellan East in the same barony and by Lackagh, Rooaun and Tooree in the barony of Kilconnel.

 

O’Donavan’s Field name book give other spellings of this townland: Shanballycoleman and Recte Shanballycluman.

 

Down Survey map gives no information on who owned this land in the 1600s.

 

The census gives no information on who lived in this townland in 1901 and 1911.
