According to the 1901 census, there was only 1 house in Glenaruid. This house had 4 occupants. John (72) was the head of the family. He was a widower. Living in his house at this time was his children Joseph (22), Stephen (18) and Anne (15). All occupants could not read. All occupants have both English and Irish except for John who has only Irish.
